Technical Coordinator Role in Construction
Our client are a well-established, privately-owned house builder and contractor in Hampshire are are seeking a Technical Coordinator to join their small and collaborative production department.
Managing the full technical process from inception to handover across both bespoke housing sites but also extending to inter-group commercial projects. This role offers a unique chance to work on a variety of tasks, ensuring no two days are the same.
As a Technical Coordinator, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless execution of projects from inception to completion. You will liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors, ensuring that all technical specifications are met and adhered to. Your role will involve coordinating technical drawings, managing project documentation, and resolving any technical issues that arise during the construction process. This is a pivotal position that requires a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
The ideal candidate will possess:
– A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction industry.
– A strong understanding of building regulations and technical standards.
– Proficiency in coordinating Part L/SAPs, asbestos surveys, and services disconnections.
– Regulatory Knowledge: Experience with Section 81 Demolition Notices, Building Regulations, and Warranty packages.
– Project Coordination: Ability to manage the coordination of architects, engineers, and structural engineers.
– Utility Management: Skilled in handling utility enquiries, payments, and mains alterations.
– Documentation: Competence in producing drawing packages, clearing planning conditions, and managing road opening licences.
– Specialised Knowledge: Familiarity with BREEAM, Robust Detail registration, air leakage/sound tests, and heating designs.
– Communication Skills: Excellent ability to produce sales/marketing brochures, homeowners manuals, and O&M manuals for housing associations or intergroup companies.
– The ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required.
– A degree or equivalent qualification in a related field is advantageous.
